Wedgwood Edward VIII 1937 Coronation Commemorative Plaque.
This is a unique and hard to find collectible produced by Wedgwood to celebrate the planned coronation of Edward VIII scheduled for June 1937. However Edward abdicated the crown in December 1936. He later became the Duke of Windsor and married American Wallis Simpson.
The solid blue jasper plaque is circular and measures 5 inches in diameter and is marked WEDGWOOD and ENGLAND on the reverse. There are two small holes similar to those found in portrait medallions for hanging cords.
